CASE STUDY
In addition to creating the official website, Simon & Schuster's bestselling author Justin Richardsgave us a brief to produce a promotional trailer/film for his Invisible Detective
series. Whilst some of the brief was quite general there were some very specific requirements as well.
With only the cover art and a few drawings to work with a lot of content had to be created from scratch.
Using Justin's brief as our framework we filled in the specifics and completed a rough draft
of the first 20 seconds to make sure our ideas were taking it in the right direction before starting for real.
Some of the most important work was creating the artwork for the scene showing the room and armchair.
which are important features in the books. Also the book covers (by David Frankland) had a very
distinct style which we needed to stay faithful to.
Finally the music and fx were scored and added. The music was composed to the finished film.
Whilst this presents its own challenges, and is unusual for a project of this nature,
the results are far more satisfying and creates a less detached score
than might otherwise be expected
